The redevelopment project for the park of the Casa Generalizia of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in Rome was initiated in 2020 as a comprehensive vision for the landscape reorganisation of a green area of approximately 2.5 hectares.
From the earliest stages, the intervention engaged with the site’s real complexity: a mature and stratified arboreal heritage, comprising around 200 large-canopy trees, required the launch of a long preliminary process of surveying, phytostatic assessment, and safety measures.
Only after this phase was it possible to proceed with the removal of diseased, compromised, or hazardous specimens, within a framework of responsibility and long-term stewardship of the park.
At the same time, the project maintained a unified vision of ground design, social spaces, resting areas, and circulation paths, integrating light architectural elements and new planting sequences conceived to guide the park’s evolution over time.
In 2025, a key phase of the work was completed with the planting of 30 new trees in the front area of the park, selected for their botanical characteristics, seasonal interest, and ability to dialogue with the existing landscape.
This intervention does not represent a final outcome, but rather a step within a broader process in which design, care, and management are interwoven as parts of a single landscape responsibility.
