The design addresses a garden structured into two primary domains: a formal forecourt closely connected to the house, and a generous rear garden with a productive focus. Although the original layout was still legible, its coherence had been weakened by successive, uncoordinated additions.
The intervention is grounded in a close reading of the site’s architectural and planted features, with the aim of rebuilding a unified spatial logic and reactivating meaningful relationships across the garden. The approach is intentionally restrained, favoring subtraction over decoration and emphasizing visual and spatial continuity.
The front garden retains a composed and orderly identity, while the rear garden revolves around the existing trees and orchard, complemented by low-maintenance planting and areas for food cultivation. The result is a renewed equilibrium between function, productivity and landscape quality.
