SEED 2023 | Assisi hosts a preview of SpazioSacro, the International Review of Architecture

A round table - moderated by columnist and architect Maurizio De Caro - in which leading figures in the design culture will discuss the theme of the contemporary interpretation of the feeling of the sacred in architecture. Participants will include Consuelo Fabriani, landscape architect; Joseph Grima, creative director of the Design Academy in Eindhoven and artistic director of Universo Assisi; Claudia Manenti, director of Dies Domini - Study Centre for Sacred Architecture; Luca Zevi, vice president of the National Institute of Architecture.

Assisi begins its journey towards a significant spring event that will again make it a protagonist on the international scene, this time on the subject of Architecture, with a specific focus on the relationship between design and spirituality.

On 27 January at the Sala della Conciliazione of the Municipality of Assisi will take place a preview of SpazioSacro, the International Review of Sacred Architecture that will be will be held in Assisi on 29 and 30 April 2023 within the broader framework of Seed 2023, Design Actions for the Future, the winning project of the public notice Festival Architettura - II Edition promoted by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture that will take place in Umbria, between Perugia and Assisi, in the last week of April.

"This is a further step towards Seed 2023, after the first one held last December at the Sala dei Notari in Perugia. This second stage will focus on the SpazioSacro review, held in Assisi starting on 29 April, with two intense conference days and an architecture exhibition.

The event is welcomed with these words by the Mayor of Assisi, Stefania Proietti: "Assisi confirms itself as a place for discussion and dialogue on the major themes related to architecture and the vision of the future. Spazio Sacro - an initiative sponsored and supported by the Municipality of Assisi -, in particular, will focus on sacred architecture, thus allowing the city to delve into a theme of which Assisi cannot but represent the highest expression".
