In a live multimedia broadcast for ARCHITOUR LIVE, we dealt with the construction and landscaping peculiarities of the project Living Chapel, a landscape design for the contemporary St. Francis's Porziuncola.
Conceived by musician Julian D. Revie, inspired by Pope Francis' Encyclical Laudato Si' and in line with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Living Chapel is made of recycled material, covered with thousands of plants placed on vertical walls, with an astonishing musical apparatus powered by flows of water, activated by solar energy. It is the result of the integrated work of an international team that overcame the difficulties related to Covid-19 restrictions, completing a complex and challenging project, an example of beauty and sustainability in a short time.
